The Basic Formula
Chancey organizes meetups based on shared proximity, availability, and interests.
For each interest you share, Chancey looks to match you in a meetup with a group of people who share that interest or related interests.

Share interests for topics you’d be excited to explore with strangers for an hour. If you’re an extrovert, this might be easy. If you’re an introvert, take your time — the deeper your interests, the stronger the matches.

To think of topics, it helps to think of content you follow on other platforms. In example, favorite music, podcasts, films, subreddits, substack writers, authors or book series, and so on. Likewise, favorite games, activities, and hobbies. Soon Chancey chat will help, but for now if you’re really stuck, you can ask other AI chat services: “Ask me questions (one at a time) to draw out topics or content I have a strong enough interest in to explore with strangers in a meetup. Along the way, suggest specific topics as we go.”

The more you open up your availability, the more likely you are to find matches.
Broad or popular topics mean Chancey can fill a table quickly and keep your social energy flowing.
Niche or personalized topics take longer to match, but your meetups tend to click naturally — you’re starting on the same wavelength.
Chances are people near you share your interests! (Even the niche ones!) As our membership grows and match algorithms improve, Chancey’s powers grow, and shared social demand no longer gets lost on the internet!

If Chancey finds a perfect match for one of your interests, he will match you together automatically (i.e. if you and people near you with shared availability search for ‘Star Wars’, you will be matched automatically).

  • You can either wait as long as you want for perfect matches on your favorite niche subjects, or connect over related subjects in the Match menu right away!

All matches create meetup lobbies. You will see them in the ‘Meet’ menu.

  • In the lobby, you can decide if you’re ready to meet or you’d just like to chat.
  • The meetup time will be chosen when enough attendees are “Ready to meet”

For every match Chancey finds for your shared interests, you are expected to attend the corresponding activity/meetup! (No shows may be penalized.)

  • Chancey is committed to convenient meetups. Be sure you are likewise committed to the interests and availability you share. Members like you are counting on you for a positive experience!
  • Chancey will notify you of every match & booking. All you need to do is show up!
